Description

Raptor Supplies offers a wide range of portable air conditioners from brands like Friedrich, Koldwave, Dayton, Movincool and Tripp Lite ducted to discharge hot air exhaust to the outdoors and maintain a comfortable indoor climate. The light-duty portable air conditioners feature a programmable remote control that helps the operator fully customise. The ductless heavy-duty units, on the other hand, provide spot cooling in factories, warehouses and outdoor events and are equipped with wheels for easy manoeuvrability. Selected models are further integrated with plug-type mounting for quick installation and provide 3-in-1 operation (air conditioning, heating & dehumidification) with a maximum 14000 and 10000 BtuH cooling and heating capacities, respectively. Choose from an array of these portable air conditioners available in depths ranging from 10.187 to 49 inches.

Working Mechanism

 • The unit employs a robust fan to draw warm air from the room through its intake vents.
 • Inside the air conditioner resides a cooling coil filled with refrigerant, typically an HCFC or HFC compound. This refrigerant operates in a sealed system.
 • The warm room air passes over the cooling coil. The refrigerant within the coil absorbs heat from the incoming air, causing it to evaporate and transform into a gas.
 • A compressor within the unit compresses the gaseous refrigerant, elevating its temperature and pressure.
 • The hot, high-pressure gas proceeds through a condenser coil situated outside the unit. In this phase, the refrigerant releases the previously absorbed heat into the surrounding air, leading it to condense into a high-pressure liquid.
 • The high-pressure liquid refrigerant returns to the evaporator coil inside the unit. As room air continues to pass over this coil, the refrigerant evaporates once more, absorbing additional heat and effectively reducing the room's air temperature.
 • Throughout the cooling process, moisture from the air condenses on the evaporator coil, contributing to dehumidification.
 • The now-cooled and dehumidified air is released back into the room, creating a comfortable indoor environment.
 • The hot air generated during the condensation process exits the unit through a flexible hose or exhaust duct.

Features

Dayton Portable Air Conditioners:

 • These portable air conditioners offer multiple operating modes, including cooling, fan-only and dehumidification, allowing for easy operation in different conditions.
 • They are equipped with washable and reusable air filters, promoting cleaner indoor air and reducing maintenance costs.

Koldwave Portable Air Conditioners:

 • They come with user-friendly digital controls and a programmable thermostat for precise temperature management.
 • These air conditioners offer multiple fan speeds and adjustable air louvres to customise airflow and distribution.
 • They are equipped with a self-evaporating condensate system, reducing the need for constant drainage and enhancing operational efficiency.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How do I reset my portable air conditioner?

A.

 • Begin by deactivating your air conditioner. Go to the circuit breaker panel and switch off the breaker that provides power to your AC unit.
 • Identify the reset button.
 • Most air conditioning units are equipped with a reset button as a standard feature.
 • Press and hold the reset button for a duration of 3 to 5 seconds, then release it.
 • Now, restore power to your air conditioner by reconnecting it.

Q. How should I properly install a portable air conditioner for maximum efficiency?

A. Ensure a secure installation by placing the unit near a window or vent, using the provided window kit, and sealing any gaps to prevent warm air from entering. Positioning the unit on a level surface and avoiding direct sunlight can also enhance efficiency.

Q. Are there safety precautions to consider when using a portable air conditioner?

A. Ensure that the unit is placed on a stable surface and avoid overloading electrical circuits. Additionally, be mindful of the unit's exhaust hose placement to prevent the intrusion of outdoor pests or debris.
